Candidate(s) for Audit Chair

Wendy S. Blackwell was Initiated to High Point Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in Spring 2010. Soror Blackwell has held the following positions in DST:  Sergeant-at-Arms, Recording Secretary, and Corresponding Secretary.

She served on the May Week Committee 2010, Delta Academy Committee, Minerva Circle (2), Youth Programs Committee Chair, Jabberwock Committee, Policies & Procedures Committee. She was also the Organizer for Teen Summit 2010, Delta GEMS Chair, Project 13 Committee, and a member of the Membership Committee.

Wendy has attended the following state, regional and national events: Fall State Meeting 2010 (Greensboro, NC)Spring State Meeting 2012 & 2015 (Raleigh, NC), 
South Atlantic Regional Conference (2011 Charleston, SC, 2014 Raleigh, NC, 2018 Charlotte, NC, 2020), 5th, 6th & 7th Area Founder’s Day West (
Charlotte, NC, Greensboro, NC, High Point, NC), Mock 25th SAR Conference - NC Spring State Meeting 2011 (Rocky Mount, NC), as well as the 51st National Conference 2013 (Washington, DC).

Candidate(s) for Corresponding Secretary

Ashley Tuck is a native of Greensboro, NC.  She is a graduate of North Carolina Central University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  She also received a Master of Science degree in Adult Education from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University.   She was initiated into the High Point Alumnae Chapter in Spring 2019 and serves on the Technology, Jabberwock, and Membership committees.  Tuck is also involved in her local community and currently serves as the Vice President of the Greensboro Chapter of the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association.  In the chapter she is known for implementing innovative ideas, such as the chapter’s first scholarship award, hosting Young Alumni Brunches, fundraisers, and many other events.  She also manages all correspondence for the chapter and always  keeps the members informed.  She is an employee of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as an Enrollment Support Specialist and is passionate about the students.  In her spare time, she loves to travel, and spend time with family and friends.

Soror Mishi Jackson, M.D. is a board certified family physician. She has practiced medicine and served others for over 20 years. She was made spring 93 in Delta pi chapter at Jackson State University.  She just recently became active in the High Point Chapter 2 years ago. Currently she serves on the Membership committee and Delta academy. She is a full time physician and mother of 2 college students. She dedicated 7 years to Jack and Jill Greensboro before dedicating her time to Delta. Serving as Editor, Teen Advisor and President. 

 

Soror Temeka Thatch is an initiate of Spring ‘19. She currently serves on the membership committee, Delta Academy, and May Week committee. Temeka is a proud alum of Winston-Salem State University. She is currently an instructor with ten years of diverse experience as an educator in Pre-K, K, high school, and collegiate level instruction. When not working, Temeka enjoys traveling, cooking and baking with her daughter, and fighting for justice for the next generation. Her favorite quote is by Coach Carter “If they fail then we fail” is what drives her daily focus!

Montrisha Bethea was born on July the 7th in Ft. Benning Georgia.  She is a graduate of Winston-Salem State University where she received her Bachelors Degree and NC A&T State University where she received her Masters. She was initiated into the High Point Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in the Spring of 2019.  She is a member of Arts and Letters, Heritage and Archives and the Guilford County Pan Hellenic Council. Currently she resides in High Point, NC and she loves to sing, act, shop, watch movies, and spend time with family and close friends.

Candidate(s) for Assistant Financial Secretary

 


Shantella M Plunkett was initiated into High Point Alumnae Chapter Spring '19. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from NCAT (1994), a Master of Accounting form Strayer University 2012. She has worked in financial service industry for 26 years. She has served on chapter committees to include: Cheer and Social, Hunger Initiative and Audit. She participated in the donation drop off to benefit Open Door Ministries community service projects.

Kimaka Hilliard was initiated on April 20,1994 by Gamma Phi at Winston-Salem State University. Soror Hilliard has served as the Assistant Treasurer in the  High Point Alumnae Chapter from 2019- 2021and on the Alpha Mu Chapter Advisory Team at NC A&T State University since 2020.

 

She attended the Fall State meeting in Hickory, NC, a Regional Meeting and registered for National Conference in New Orleans.

 

 

 


Candidate(s) for Assistant Treasurer
 

Candice Dixon was initiated into the Kappa Sigma Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.. In the Kappa Sigma Chapter,  East Carolina University Soror Dixon served as Chaplain and participated in program planning, including Project HERS, assisted in the design and constructed of the chapter website and was a member of  Step Show Team. She was briefly a member of Greenville (NC) Alumnae from 2006-2007 and then she moved to High Point Alumnae Chapter from 2007-2011. After a brief move and hiatus from Delta she returned to High Point Alumnae Chapter 2017.

Soror Candice has served in the following capacities: Delta G.E.M.S. (2nd year Chair), Upsilon Alpha Advisor Primary Advisor for 2 years, Membership Committee,

     Health Fair Committee. She has served on the Minerva Circle for both HPAC Spring 2019 Upsilon Alpha (Spr 2018, Fall
     2020). 
The positions above have afforded Candice the opportunity to look at budgets, pay attention to details, and
     learn the importance of adjustments where needed. Being a Primary Advisor gives Candice a front row seat in
     knowing the role of a Treasurer as her responsibility is to assure the collegiate chapter is managing their budget and
    making wise financial decisions while maintaining compliance.

Atina L. Gray has served in several positions in Delta Sign Theta to include: 

Assistant Financial Secretary,  Financial Secretary (2), and Audit Chair (2). She has also served on various committees such as Audit Committee, Membership Committee (5), Projects and Program Committee. She was a Delta GEMS Co-Chair and has served on the Minerva Circle twice. Atina was also a Upsilon Alpha Advisor, High Point University from 2015-2019. 

Soror Gray has consistently attended state, regional and national conferences:

    Atina's professional career has been with Greensboro Housing Authority for 23 years. She worked as a Section 8 Financial
    Accountant, Client Landlord Service Manager, and Vice President of Voucher Administration in which she is responsible
    for the day-to-day operations of the Section 8 department and supervises 20 staff members

Soror Felicia McNeal Millner, DDS was initiated as a "4"  in Spring, 1993 into the Alpha Mu Chapter at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She has been affiliated with East Point/College Park Alumnae Chapter - Atlanta, Georgia;  Greensboro Alumnae Chapter - Greensboro, NC, and High Point Alumnae Chapter - High Point, NC. 

 

Soror Milner currently holds the position of Vice President of High Point Alumnae Chapter. She has served as the Advisor, for Upsilon Alpha Chapter, High Point University, a member of the Minerva Circle, High Point University; a member of Policies and Procedures, Chair of Projects and Programs, Chair of Heritage and Archives, Chair of Membership, and as a member of the Audit committee.
